London Voices: A Citizen Journalism Competition for London
Thursday, March 30th, 2017
Deadline for entries: 22 May 2017
London Learning Consortium and The Media Society have joined forces to run a London Citizen Journalism Competition in 2017 to support aspiring citizen journalists. If you’ve ever wanted to give this a go, now is the opportunity!
No previous experience is required as there is plenty of guidance and support, plus free access to a range of media training. What’s more, you could win one of three prizes of up to £2,000, and if you are shortlisted you will be invited to an awards ceremony at the prestigious Media Society’s summer drinks reception in central London. This will be a great opportunity to meet with a range of high profile media and journalism contacts.
We are encouraging entries through traditional print articles, but also radio (or other audio), video, photo journalism or other online formats. There are four themes to choose from which are broad enough to cover a range of issues across London.
Entry to the competition is very straightforward. On the competition website www.londonlc.org.uk/london-voices you can find a Project Brief which explains what we are looking for and a Competition Registration Form, which also unlocks a variety of support and discounted training opportunities.
The deadline for competed work is 22nd May 2017
